2010 Course Information

The 100 Mile and 50 Mile both start and finish right outside race headquarters on the Hot Springs Freedom Trail bike path. The course follows the paved bike path through downtown Hot Springs , paralleling the Platte river to the north end of town. The distance that is paved is about 1.6 miles. A short run through a residential neighborhood (about 5 blocks) and on out to the Cold Brook Lake campground and the first Aid Station, located at mile 4. A .85 mile jaunt across an open meadow and out to the Argyle Road (CR333) where the course makes a hard left and heads toward the Mickelson Trail, 11 miles away over a winding, hilly country road.

At the end of the of the Argyle road section of the course runners will find Aleen and Tom Golis and their well stocked and welcoming Arglye Loop aid station. Here the course makes a hard right and heads north on the beautiful Mickelson Trail. The 50 milers will do a little over 9 miles (just past the Pringle Aid Station) before they turn around and head HOME. The 100 milers will get to do just shy of 34 miles out on the Trail before turning around at the intersection of the Trail and Dead Broke Street. This intersection is very well marked and this is where the runners make a U-turn and head back to Hot Springs.

The 50K runners will follow the Mickelson to the turnaround point just past the Carroll Creek aid station before turning back and finishing back at Carroll Creek.  Busses will be available there to transport 50K finishers back to Hot Springs.
